975 - Danewall was captured

Map of Danewall(Dannevirke)
Denmark
Holy Roman Emperor Otto 2 "the red" controlled the Danewall and built a fort where the Main Wall and the Connecting Wall met ending at the Danewall sea. But the Danes recaptured the wall soon after, this fort came to be known as Thyraborg. Named after queen Thyra. The Danewall  began at Hollingstad as early as, in 449 the Angles boarded their vessels to sail down the Eider river system across the North Sea to Britannia. In a map from the year 1596, Hollingstedt is indicated as port.
Sweden
Birka was abandoned as the political center of Sweden moved to Sigtuna.
