Sigtryg Gale died. King Athelstan grabbed Northumbria, and proclaimed him self the ruler of Britannia. Sihtric`s brother Gudrød sailed from Dublin to Northumbria to reinstall the viking independence, but he was defeated by the Anglo-Saxons. To help consolidate his links to the North Athelstan married his sister to Sihtric, the Norse King of York.
