Gunnbjörn Ulf-Krakuson sighted an unknown land to the west of Iceland after Gunnbjörn was driven off course by a storm under one of his expeditions. Gunnbjörn saw a group of islands or “skerries,” and these islands later became known as Gunnbjörn’s Skerries. No attempt were made explore the island.
