An attempt to settle Gunnbjørn’s skerries a group of islands near Greenland. The attempt was led by Snaebjorn Galti and 11 men it ended in a disaster. The men killed each other.

Geirmund  the noisy chose to return to Norway without his ex-wife and daughter. His wife Thurid boarded his ship before he departed, stole his famous sword "Leg-Biter," and left their infant daughter Groa on the ship. Geirmund cursed the sword, and onreturn to Norway himself all of his crew, including his daughter Groa, drowned.
At the battle of Cathair Cuan Brian Boru defeated the Vikings of Limerick and Ivar of Limerick was killed.

Vladimir came back from Norway with a viking mercenary army and re-captured Novgorod.  He also fought with his brother Yaropolk, but he defeated his brother.

Troops were deployed in North Wales to prevent an invasion from Dublin Viking mercenaries.
